After eight years with the Arsenal academy and in the loan system, Harry Clarke completed a permanent exit to join Ipswich Town in the January transfer window.

It was something of a comeback for Clarke, who had played for Ipswich as an academy player, and whose grandfather played for the club in the 1950s.

Just a few months later, Clarke has already made 19 appearances for Ipswich, and Saturday’s game was a special one.

Clarke played 90 minutes for Ipswich against Exeter City in a 6-0 win, and the result secured promotion to the Championship for his new side.

After the game, the 22-year-old struggled to contain his emotions, finding himself in tears on the pitch as he hugged his family.

There was plenty of time to enjoy the day later on, and Clarke could be seen out partying in town with the squad, dancing and singing songs with the fans.

Ipswich have one more game to focus on next weekend, with the chance to win the division if they can leapfrog Plymouth Argyle on the final day.

After that, Clarke can start preparing for his first full season with Ipswich in the Championship.
