Andy Carroll encourages Declan Rice to choose Arsenal over Chelsea, Manchester United

Former West Ham and England striker Andy Carroll has advised Declan Rice to make a move to Arsenal instead of Chelsea or Manchester United in the upcoming transfer window.

Arsenal’s interest in Rice

Arsenal are reportedly optimistic about securing the signature of the 24-year-old West Ham midfielder. Mikel Arteta is keen to strengthen his midfield options after failing to land Brighton star Moises Caicedo in January.

However, Arsenal face competition from Chelsea and Manchester United.

Carroll’s endorsement for Arsenal

In an interview with Metro.co.uk, Carroll shared his thoughts on Rice’s potential move, stating that he can’t see Rice leaving the Premier League. Carroll, who knows Rice well from their time together at West Ham, mentioned that Rice should join a top club in England.

“We all know he needs to go to a top club,” Carroll said. “I can’t see him going outside of England, but he should go to a top-three or top-two club.

He added, “I’d like to see Declan at Arsenal to be honest – I’m not an Arsenal fan, but I like the way they’re playing at the minute.”

Arteta’s impact on Arsenal

Carroll also praised Mikel Arteta’s influence on Arsenal, particularly the development of young players.

He believes Rice would be a great fit for the Gunners under Arteta’s guidance.

“The way Mikel Arteta has them playing and the young lads coming through – you see the team and the average age is incredible,” Carroll said
