Arsenal’s January interest continues

Arsenal’s interest in Everton midfielder Amadou Onana remains strong after a failed attempt to sign him in the January transfer window.

The Gunners have reportedly maintained constant contact with the 21-year-old Belgium international’s entourage, eyeing a summer move, according to Het Nieuwsblad.

Everton’s relegation battle impacting Onana’s future

Everton are currently battling relegation, sitting in 16th place, level on points with Nottingham Forest and AFC Bournemouth.

Onana’s future at Goodison Park largely depends on the outcome of this battle.

If Everton fails to escape relegation, Onana’s departure is almost certain.

Even if Sean Dyche’s side remains in the Premier League, there’s still a significant chance that the talented midfielder will change clubs in the summer, with Arsenal said to be among the top options.

Conditions set for summer transfer

Mikel Arteta’s side would be pleased to know that Onana feels ready to take the next step in his career.

Furthermore, Everton would quite like the money from his sale, targeting between €60m and €70m for the midfielder.

Arsenal are apparently well-aware of the conditions required to secure Onana’s signature in the upcoming transfer window.
