Arsenal academy striker Nikolaj Moller is on loan with FC Den Bosch this season, and he’s faced a few frustrating absences in his spell at the club so far.

After missing most of August and September with a couple of injury setbacks, Moller has been out of action again since the start of February.

But whilst the 20-year-old will be keen to get back out there as soon as possible, Friday night’s match was one he was lucky to miss.

In a totally dominant display, PEC Zwolle thrashed Den Bosch 13-0, the joint-biggest win in Dutch league history. The scoreline matched Ajax’s 13-0 win over VVV-Venlo in 2020.

The result was particularly embarrassing for Den Bosch because they didn’t have a red card or an in-game injury to point to as the cause of the battering.

The away side had the full 11 men on the pitch for the entire match, and you could even argue that Zwolle took their foot off the gas after going 7-0 up in the first 31 minutes.

Two players scored hat-tricks in Zwolle’s victory, with Apostolos Vellios bagging four goals and Lennart Thy scoring three.

Thomas Van den Belt added a brace, and Davy ven den Berg, Haris Medunjanin, Younes Taha, and Thomas Beelen scored the other four goals.
