The Premier League confirmed their nominees for Player of the Month on Thursday, with Arsenal receiving two nominations in the group of six players.

Both Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard are up for the award, competing with Alexander Isak, Alexis Mac Allister, Tyrone Mings, and Mohamed Salah.

Only Salah can match Saka and Trossard for goal contributions, with all three players notching five.

Saka scored once against Everton and twice against Crystal Palace, whilst also providing an assist in each of those games. Trossard provided one assist against Everton, three against Fulham, and one against Palace.

Saka and Trossard also have the advantage of having helped Arsenal to a perfect record in March, with four wins from four games. None of the others can boast the same.

It’s great to see both players being recognised for their form in Arsenal’s title challenge.

Saka has been one of Arsenal’s most consistent performers throughout the season, and he continues to pop up with goals and assists on a regular basis.

Meanwhile, Trossard has adapted to his new club as quickly as anyone could have hoped, and his burst of assists have certainly helped Mikel Arteta’s side.

Saka and Trossard are currently away on international duty with England and Belgium.

Perhaps Arsenal could even have had a third nominee, with Gabriel Martinelli scoring four goals in four games in March. But it might be a good thing not to split the Gunners fan vote too much!
