Whilst there was some concern around Leandro Trossard’s injury following Arsenal’s win over Bournemouth, there was also some good news for Gunners supporters after the game.

Reddit user ApprehensiveSkirt570 posted a picture (above) showing Gabriel Jesus involved in Arsenal’s post-match training session, writing that the striker even tucked away a goal.

Goal confirm that Jesus joined the Arsenal substitutes in their post-match warm-down and took part in an extensive small-sided training game.

Charles Watts reports that this was the “clearest indication yet” that he is very close to joining full training.

Arsenal won’t want to rush Jesus, and there will probably be a precautionary gap between his return to full training and his return to the pitch for competitive match action.

But these are certainly promising signs, as the striker edges closer to his comeback.

With Eddie Nketiah and Trossard also out, Jesus’ return will be much welcome. For the time being, Arsenal need to rely on Gabriel Martinelli and Emile Smith Rowe to fill in, out of position.

Jesus had scored five goals and assisted five in his 14 Premier League games for Arsenal before his injury, as well as laying on an assist in a Europa League game against Bodo/Glimt and winning a penalty against Liverpool.

More than just the goals, the striker helped to transform Arsenal’s play and make the Gunners comfortable league leaders.

Another run like that in the final couple of months of the season could well bring Mikel Arteta’s side the league title.
