The Norwegian striker is still recovering from a groin injury sustained during the FA Cup victory over Burnley, which led to his withdrawal from international duty with Norway.

Haaland’s father revealed that the player had undergone tests at City’s partner hospital in Barcelona, and his participation in the Liverpool game remains uncertain.

Despite not appearing in photos published by City on Wednesday, it could not be confirmed whether Haaland had participated in training or not.

However, footage from Thursday’s session indicated that the star forward was missing from the group, suggesting he may not have fully recovered from his injury.

Phil Foden was another notable absentee from training, having undergone surgery over the weekend to remove his appendix.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Ederson has resumed training after being sidelined due to illness during the international break.

Pep Guardiola, is expected to provide an update on Haaland and Foden’s fitness during Friday’s press conference.

With just two days remaining before the Liverpool match, City will be hoping to close the eight-point gap with league leaders Arsenal.
