Three Arsenal players made the BBC and WhoScored Teams of the Week after the win against Crystal Palace at the weekend.
WhoScored named Bukayo Saka and Granit Xhaka in their Premier League Team of the Week after Sunday’s win at the Emirates Stadium.
Saka was the highest-rated player on the team, with a 9.2 rating, making him the Player of the Week.
The winger scored twice and assisted one further goal, with WhoScored also highlighting his 16 touches in the opposition box, at least six more than any other player in the league over the weekend.
Xhaka also made it in with an 8.15 rating, having scored his second goal in two games, winning both of his aerial duels and completing four of four attempted tackles.
The BBC’s Garth Crooks also included two Arsenal players in his Team of the Week, which was based on a mix between the Premier League and the FA Cup fixtures.
Like WhoScored, Crooks gave one spot to Saka, writing that the youngster “set the tone for a routine victory”.
The other spot went to Ben White, with Crooks suggesting the right-back put in an “outstanding performance”. He added that after the early shot pushed onto the post by Aaron Ramsdale, Wilfried Zaha “spent the rest of the game in White’s pocket”.
It’s no surprise to see Saka getting recognition after another great display, and it’s good to see White getting a spot after his England snub.
Meanwhile, Xhaka has had a great week on an individual level, performing excellently against Sporting CP and very well again in the Crystal Palace clash. His spot is also very well deserved.
Club football now makes way for the international break, with Arsenal next in action against Leeds United on April 1st.
