Arsenal could look to sell three of their senior players to fund their incoming business this summer according to a report.

The Times report that with Arsenal looking to bring in four players in the summer, they could part fund those deals with various sales.

That transfer list could potentially include Kieran Tierney, but it’s also reportedly likely to include Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares.

Lokonga and Tavares are currently on loan, with Lokonga playing in the Premier League for Crystal Palace whilst Tavares plays for Marseille over in France.

They’re only recent signings for the Gunners, joining early in the summer of 2021, but it looks as if both players could already be on the move.

Will Arsenal sell these three players?

Given their recent transfers to Arsenal, the pair still have contracts lasting for two or three more years. The Gunners will have a lot of leverage in negotiations, and they could even choose not to sell at all.

The same is true of Tierney, who is seemingly drawing interest from Newcastle United. Arsenal are under no pressure to sell, so they’d need to receive a convincing offer to do so.

This is the kind of position you want to be in as a selling club. It’s inevitable that some players will want to leave for a new challenge every summer, but you hope to be able to hold out for a fair price.

If the team is doing well and the player is under contract for a long time and there’s plenty of interest in them, that should all be conducive to a significant sale.

It’s now up to Edu Gaspar and Arsenal’s transfer team to ensure that’s the case.
