Arsenal remain determined to sign Athletico Paranaense’s 18-year-old striker Vitor Roque, despite reports suggesting he turned down the club in favour of Barcelona.

The Gunners are said to be offering a ”tailor-made’ sporting project’ for the Brazilian U20 international, led by their transfer chief, Edu Gasper.

Roque has attracted interest from various European clubs, including Arsenal, West Ham, and Barcelona, following his impressive performances in the South American U-20 Championship.

While Roque reportedly prefers a move to the Spanish giants, Arsenal and West Ham are still said to be keen on the young striker with Arsenal pushing the hardest to sign him.

Arsenal are said to be ready to meet Athletico Paranaense’s asking price of between €35m and €40m for Roque, while Barcelona’s financial difficulties may hinder their ability to close a deal.

With Roque’s father and agent in London for talks with English clubs, Arsenal remain hopeful of securing the talented forward’s signature.
