Former England striker Jodie Taylor returns to Arsenal Women for a second spell, adding experience and goal-scoring prowess to the squad.

Jodie Taylor is back at Arsenal Women for a second stint, as the club announced the signing of the experienced striker until the end of the season.

Taylor previously donned the Arsenal jersey between 2016 and 2017, netting 10 goals in 17 appearances during her first spell in North London.

From San Diego Wave to Arsenal

Taylor arrives at Arsenal after completing her contract with San Diego Wave in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in the United States.

Her illustrious career has seen her play for clubs across Europe, America, and Australia, including a UEFA Women’s Champions League title with Lyon in 2020.

International Pedigree

On the international stage, Taylor has been a key player for England, earning 51 caps and scoring 19 goals. She was the top scorer at the 2017 UEFA European Women’s Championship, further cementing her reputation as a prolific goal-scorer.

Speaking about her return to Arsenal, Taylor said, “It feels amazing to be back – like I never left. It’s incredible to have this opportunity to come back to the club that I love so much.

“A lot of progression has happened here in the last five years since I was last here, and to see how much the club has grown and progressed is incredible. I’m very happy to be here.”

Arsenal Women’s Head Coach, Jonas Eidevall, expressed his pleasure with the signing of Taylor, stating, “We’re really pleased to have brought in Jodie to help us from now until the end of the season. She has a proven track record for scoring goals and we know her experience will be a great asset to the whole dressing room. We have so much to fight for this season and Jodie will help us on that journey.”
