Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia, who left Manchester City in 2022 to get more game time, has a buy-back clause in his contract, which will activate in 2024.

Manchester City have the option to re-sign the 19-year-old Belgian defensive midfielder for €45 million but not until 2024, while other Premier League clubs, such as Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea are being linked with a move for the player this summer.

Lavia has made 22 appearances for Southampton, including 16 in the league, and has scored one goal so far.

He joined Southampton for €12.3 million and signed a five-year deal.

However, Southampton are currently in the relegation zone and struggling to avoid dropping to the Championship, so it’s unlikely that Lavia will fulfil the commitment signed in the summer of last year.
