Arsenal have been closely monitoring Real Valladolid’s promising right-back, Iván Fresneda, since the winter transfer window. The 18-year-old player’s agent has recently revealed that his client is keen on leaving the La Liga side in what could be an “historic sale” for the club.

In the recent ‘transfer market battle’, Arsenal have emerged with a financial advantage over Juventus for Ivan Fresneda’s signature, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The interest from the Gunners, as well as other European giants like Borussia Dortmund, have not gone unnoticed by the young Spaniard.

While on international duty with Spain’s U19 team, Fresneda spoke to AS about the rumours linking him to Arsenal, Juventus, and Borussia Dortmund. “I’m proud, but I always say it: I’m also at a big club, Valladolid,” he said.

Fresneda has also been learning English and German, prompting questions about whether his language studies are related to a potential move to the Premier League or Bundesliga.

However, he explained that his language skills are more about his passion for learning and preparing for the future beyond football. “I have always valued studies with a view to the future, beyond football. I am a person who likes to learn languages,” Fresneda said.

Since making his La Liga debut in September, Fresneda has made 13 league appearances for Valladolid this season and two in the Copa del Rey.

With a current market value of €10m, he is the highest-valued player among the Spain U19 players called up for the international break. When asked about his high valuation, Fresneda responded, “Well, that’s because I have more games in the first division than the rest.

“It has been my turn now and the rest will play them in a very short time.”

Arsenal’s interest in Fresneda could lead to an exciting transfer saga in the summer, as the club looks to bolster its defensive options.

The young Spaniard’s potential move to the Premier League could also signal a bright future for the player as he continues to develop his skills and adapt to new challenges.
