Arsenal loanee Auston Trusty didn’t start his week in ideal fashion, scoring an own goal as Birmingham City were eliminated from the FA Cup by Blackburn Rovers.

Though it was simply the sort of freak incident that happens to defenders, Trusty would have been keen to make amends in his next appearance against Swansea City, and he did exactly that.

In a thrilling game of back and forth, Birmingham took an early lead before conceding their advantage and falling behind 2-1. They equalised early in the second half, only to concede again for 3-2.

Just when it looked like Swansea might take all three points, Lukas Jutkiewicz popped up with a 90th-minute equaliser for Birmingham.

Yet there was still more drama to come, as Trusty headed in a goal in the last of seven minutes of added time to win Birmingham all three points.

Birmingham’s recent league form has been dreadful, losing five games in a row before Saturday.

Trusty’s winner should give his team a much-needed lift, and they’ll now need to carry that momentum into a home game against sixth-place West Brom next weekend.
