Arsenal have confirmed that their next match of the FA Youth Cup will be held at the Emirates Stadium, after wins at St. James’ Park and Vicarage Road.

The Arsenal u18s began their FA Youth Cup campaign at Meadow Park in December, the ground where the u21s often play their home games.

After a 6-0 win over Millwall in that tie, Jack Wilshere’s u18 side then got the chance to play against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park, winning 3-2. Then they travelled to Vicarage Road to face Watford, coming from 2-0 down to win 4-2.

That set up a quarter-final meeting against Cambridge United, and this time Arsenal were drawn at home.

The Gunners have announced on the club website that they’ll hold the game at the Emirates Stadium this time, instead of at Meadow Park, playing on Wednesday, February 22nd at 19:00 GMT.

Cambridge United might not be the biggest name in the senior game, but their u18 side has already pulled off an impressive 1-0 win over Chelsea, eliminating Arsenal’s London rivals from the Youth Cup last month.

Like Arsenal, Cambridge also kicked off their campaign with a 6-0 win, away to Colchester United.

It doesn’t look like being a walkover, which should be no surprise given we’re now at the quarter-final stage.

Arsenal haven’t released ticketing details yet, but with the game just 11 days away, it shouldn’t be long now. Hopefully, the match should draw a big crowd to support the young Gunners on.

For a long time, Arsenal held the attendance record for an FA Youth Cup game, with 38,187 attending a semi-final match at the Emirates Stadium.

That record was recently beaten, with 67,492 turning out to watch Manchester United’s cup final match at Old Trafford in 2022. But there’s still potential for Arsenal to set a new club record as the current cup run goes on.
