With the fifth round of the FA Cup to take place later this month, only two Arsenal players currently remain in the competition.

Arsenal have a long history with the FA Cup, having won the competition 14 times, but the Gunners were eliminated from this year’s edition away to Manchester City at the end of January.

Unfortunately, Arsenal’s loanees have largely been eliminated as well.

Crystal Palace, Derby County, Coventry City, Accrington Stanley, Hartlepool United, and Colchester United were all already out of the competition before they took on Arsenal loanees in January.

In addition, Mazeed Ogungbo, Miguel Azeez, and Tyreece John-Jules weren’t involved in the matchday squads as Crawley Town, Wigan Athletic, and Ipswich Town went out.

Tim Akinola (Chesterfield), Charlie Patino (Blackpool), and Auston Trusty (Birmingham City) all featured in the competition, but they were eliminated by West Brom, Southampton, and Blackburn Rovers respectively.

That leaves just two Arsenal loanees – Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Cedric Soares.

Maitland-Niles and Southampton are set to host Grimsby Town in the next round, so they’ll be favourites to reach the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, Fulham travel to Sunderland on Wednesday night in an FA Cup replay, for the chance to face Leeds United at home in the fifth round if they win.

Cedric is yet to make his debut for Fulham following his injury problems at Arsenal immediately preceding the loan, and he won’t be involved on Wednesday due to FA Cup regulations.

Cedric wasn’t registered for the original tie against Sunderland, so he’s ineligible for the replay. However, he can play in the next round, should they make it.
