The FA has issued the financial punishment for the actions of Arsenal and Manchester City players during Man City’s 3-1 win at the Emirates on Wednesday 15 February.

The independent Regulatory Commission has fined Arsenal £65,000 for the actions of their players, who were protesting an incorrect decision, while Manchester City have been ordered to pay £75,000 for two different incidents in the match, neither of which were contentious.

The decision came after players from both teams surrounded the officials which led to a heated exchange between the players and the referee.

The FA is cracking down on such behaviour this season, with Arsenal their preferred club to punish, and the financial punishment is intended to act as a deterrent to players and clubs, although we all know it won’t do that.

This was Arsenal’s fourth charge of the season, three of which have come in 2023.
