Garth Crooks selected three Arsenal players for his BBC Team of the Week following the weekend’s north London derby, with Ben White, Martin Odegaard, and Bukayo Saka all featuring.

On White, Crooks said that the defender was “outstanding” against Spurs, doing his job “quietly and effectively”, adding that “there was a moment in the first half when he had Son in his pocket”.

Crooks said of Odegaard that the midfielder’s performance was “another display of the highest quality”, praising the Norwegian for growing “into a first-class player”.

Finally, Crooks wrote that Saka “looked like he was capable of taking on the entire Tottenham team”, grudgingly concluding that “I can see no reason why Arteta and his men shouldn’t start talking about winning the title”.

Interestingly, WhoScored named two different Arsenal players for their Team of the Week, with Aaron Ramsdale and Oleksandr Zinchenko making the lineup.

Ramsdale received an 8.57 rating, with WhoScored’s Ciaran McLoughlin highlighting the goalkeeper’s seven saves, two high ball claims and two clearances.

Zinchenko’s 7.39 rating was also enough to get him in ahead of the competition, with WhoScored pointing to his 92 touches (the most of any player in the game), two dribbles, two tackles, two clearances, four aerial duels won, and zero times dribbled past.

With a win like Sunday’s, it almost seems harsh not to give credit to every member of the team. They all did their part, and there wasn’t a bad performance out there on the day.
