Nottingham Forest and Leeds United are now seemingly the leading contenders to sign Weston McKennie from Juventus, as Arsenal links fade.

David Ornstein reports for The Athletic that Leeds United face late competition for Weston McKennie’s signature, but from Nottingham Forest, not Arsenal.
Leeds want to sign McKennie on loan with an option to buy, but they remain locked in negotiations with no breakthrough yet.
That has given Forest the opportunity to join the conversation, but it doesn’t look like Arsenal will be making a late move.
Ornstein’s report makes no mention of the Gunners, who are seemingly pursuing an unlikely deal for Moises Caicedo.
Italian outlet Repubblica.it had reported that McKennie’s agent has been in London for around a week to negotiate the sale of his client from Juventus to the Premier League.
As well as Leeds, the outlet also put Arsenal in the running for the signing.
But whilst various Italian sources have named the Gunners as a potential destination for McKennie, those reports haven’t been backed up by anyone in the English media.
Barring a late change, it looks as though Arsenal are happy to let the 24-year-old go elsewhere.

McKennie has made 21 appearances for Juventus this season, scoring three goals and assisting two from midfield.
As well as being a Serie A regular, McKennie also plays for the U.S. Men’s National Team, making 41 appearances and scoring nine goals for his national side. He started every game for the team at the World Cup.
