Ivan Fresneda is an 18-year-old right-back with a €30m release clause who could be available in this window for around €15m.

That’s according to the first reports linking Arsenal with a €15m deal for Fresneda back in December when the Gunners were said to have ‘already moved’ for the player.

Now, it’s being reported that Fresneda’s rep, Luis Bardají, touched down in London this week, posting on social media that he was there “to disconnect”, whatever that’s meant to mean.

There’s surely no way Arsenal sign a new right-back without letting one go first. The Gunners already have Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Cedric Soares in the squad.

Cedric has been linked with a January exit, but Arsenal also have youth players waiting for the chance to step up.

Loanee Brooke Norton-Cuffy and u21 star Reuell Walters are both highly rated in north London, so Arsenal aren’t lacking for young players with potential in Fresneda’s position.
