Jesus started out the year with Manchester City, providing 11 goals and assists in all competitions in the first half of 2022 as they won the Premier League.

That included a goal against Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final, a goal against Liverpool in a tight title race, and an assist against Liverpool in the FA Cup semi-final.

Joining Arsenal for the remainder of 2022, Jesus helped the Gunners to the top of the league with five goals and six assists in 20 games. In all, that’s 22 goal contributions for the year at club level.

Saka started the year with a goal against Manchester City on New Year’s Day, and he went on to score 13 and assist nine in all competitions for Arsenal – putting him level with Jesus on 22 goal contributions for the year.

Like Jesus, Saka turned up in some big games, scoring against City, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool (twice).

The young winger was also particularly impressive at the World Cup, scoring three goals in four games and winning a penalty leading to a goal in the quarter-final against France.

Finally, in his first full calendar year as an Arsenal player, new club captain Odegaard scored 10 and assisted six from midfield.

The 24-year-old also captained Norway to six wins and two draws in 10 games, and he only seemed to get better as the year went on.

All three players had a lot to be proud of in 2022, and they’ll hope to carry their progress into 2023.
