On Monday, most of the football world was shocked with the news that Joao Cancelo would be on his way to Bayern Munich on loan, now the Daily M*ail report that he had a massive ‘bust-up’ with Pep Guardiola after being left out of the starting XI for the FA Cup game against Arsenal.

Manchester City’s Portuguese full-back, Joao Cancelo, is leaving the club following a training ground altercation with manager Pep Guardiola according to an exclusive from the M*il.

According to their report, Cancelo was frustrated with not being named in the starting lineup for the recent FA Cup match against Arsenal and expressed his anger to Guardiola.

The tension between the player and manager reached breaking point, leading to Cancelo’s decision to leave the club.

He is expected to join Bayern Munich on loan, with an option to make the move permanent for £61m at the end of the season.

Cancelo had reportedly grown increasingly dissatisfied with his lack of playing time and had allegedly become disruptive to the squad (this might indicate where the M*il got their ‘exclusive’ from – Manchester City). The situation became so severe, the M*ail claim, that Manchester City gave Cancelo the green light to depart once he obtained an offer from Bayern Munich.

Despite losing a key player at the end of the transfer window, the club is reportedly confident they have enough defensive cover if they do not find a replacement, which, again, indicates this information/leak came from City rather than the player’s camp.

Cancelo had started only three of the 10 fixtures since returning from international duty and was substituted at halftime during one of those games with the M*ail making sure people know that he”was seen slumped on the bench while other members of City’s team warmed up ahead of kick off” before their game against Wolves.
