Stade de Reims boss Will Still has praised Folarin Balogun as a player and a person, after the striker returned from injury this week.
Speaking in an interview this week, Stade de Reims manager Will Still gave his thoughts on Arsenal loanee and Reims top scorer Folarin Balogun.
“He’s unbelievable, he has real talent but he is also just a top person,” Still said.
“He’s trying to learn the language – we have a bit of banter because his French is terrible (but) I think he realises: being good here will allow him to get the spotlight and attention he needs.”
After Balogun scored a brace in his appearance against Rennes on December 29th, Still revealed that the striker had a hamstring problem.
Balogun went on to miss Reims’ trip to Lille and their cup tie against FC Loon-Plage, raising some concerns that the issue could be something serious.
But those worries turned out to be premature, as Balogun returned to action with a start against AC Ajaccio on Wednesday, playing 77 minutes in a 1-0 win.
Balogun has scored 10 goals in Ligue 1 this season, as well as assisting one and winning a penalty leading to a goal scored by a teammate.
Various clubs are starting to show an interest in the Arsenal man, who is already reportedly valued at more than £35m.
But if the striker continues his good form in 2023, perhaps Arsenal will be looking at bringing him back into the fold.
