The top 10 ranking is as follows:

1 (=) Lyon (FRA) 115.966
2 (=) Barcelona (ESP) 114.299
3 (+3) Paris Saint-Germain (FRA) 95.966
4 (-1) Wolfsburg (GER) 95.6665 (-1) Bayern (GER) 93.666
6 (-1) Chelsea (ENG) 76.833
7 *Arsenal (ENG) 51.833
8 (-1) Man City (ENG) 44.833
9 *Juventus (ITA) 43.000
10 (-1) Atlético de Madrid (ESP) 41.299

Back in 2019/20, when Arsenal returned to the Champions League after a long absence, the club coefficient was a meagre 17.655 and it is a testament to the club’s improvement on the pitch that the coefficient has trebled over the last three years and half.

Of course, the Gunners are nowhere near Lyon or Barcelona’s ranking points, but they certainly closed the gap on the pitch recently as seen with the Lyon away win.

Regarding the nation’s ranking there has been big changes with Italy getting three teams and Portugal getting two teams for the season 2024/25.

1 (=) France 79.833
2 (=) Germany 73.332
3 (+1) Spain 66.499
4 (-1) England 59.166
5 (+3) Italy 35.000
6 (-1) Sweden 25.999
7 (-1) Czechia 25.166
8 (-1) Denmark 24.250
9 *Portugal 24.000
10 *Netherlands 20.500

The provisional entries for the 2023/24 season have been announced recently and England have lost the direct access to the group stage.

It means the England champions at the end of the season will start in qualifying round 2, unless the WCL winner this season also win the French, German, Spanish or English league.

The current knock-out stage draw will take place on 10 February and Arsenal can draw FC Bayern, Paris SG or AS Roma in the quarter-finals round.
