The report states that Arsenal are not willing to sell the 23-year-old defensive midfielder, despite his limited appearances in the Premier League this season.

Lokonga has made only six appearances (196 minutes) in the league this season, compared to the 19 appearances he made last season due to the strong performances of Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka.

In all competitions, he has played just 14 times (816 minutes).

Monaco, who are looking to rebuild their squad following the departure of Benoit Badiashile to Chelsea, made the offer in an attempt to strengthen their team with a player who has not progressed as many would have liked at Arsenal.

It is uncertain if Monaco will make another bid before the transfer window closes.

Lokonga is currently valued at around €15m (Arsenal paid €17.5m for him in 2021) and is under contract with Arsenal until 2026.
