FRESNEDA UPDATE ISSUED AFTER THIS POST WENT LIVE:

U-turn after Arsenal deal agreed

The right-back, who has made 12 appearances for Valladolid this season, is expected to decide between the two clubs soon.

Both teams have agreed to the transfer fee and the loan of Fresneda back to Valladolid for the rest of the season.

Arsenal’s current third-choice right-back Cedric Soares is set to join Fulham, making the acquisition of Fresneda a crucial move for manager Mikel Arteta as he looks to bolster his title-chasing squad.

Arteta has already added attacker Leandro Trossard from Brighton and central defender Jakub Kiwior from Spezia to his squad this transfer window. The Gunners are also rumoured to be making another move for Brighton midfielder Moses Cacideo after their £60 million bid was rejected last week.

On the other hand, Dortmund believe that they could offer Fresneda a clearer career path compared to Arsenal.

The Bundesliga side is reportedly confident of securing the deal for the young talent, but it remains to be seen where Fresneda will ultimately decide to continue his development.

Regardless of the outcome, the transfer decision will be an important one for Fresneda’s future, as he looks to establish himself as a key player in one of Europe’s top leagues.
