“Man City, not Arsenal, will win the Premier League title,” says Chelsea legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

Despite Arsenal currently sitting at the top of the Premier League standings with a five-point lead over Manchester City, Hasselbaink is confident that City will come from behind to claim the title. He acknowledged that Arsenal has been doing a great job and has surprised him with their performances this season.

In an interview with SafeBettingSites, via Complete Sports Nigeria, Hasselbaink said, “Arsenal are doing so well and they keep on surprising me.

They’re doing great and playing really good football, but I do think they’re going to have a bad time of maybe two or three losses and then we’ll see how they react.

My favourites are still Manchester City, but I’m getting closer and closer to saying that perhaps it is going to be Arsenal’s year.”

He is far from alone.

Most pundits are still hedging their bets, believing that Manchester City will put together a 10-game winning run to surpass Arsenal who are bound to falter. But, as Stephen and Paul discuss on this week’s podcast, that is far from a guarantee.

As a player, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink won several individual and team trophies during his career. Some of the notable ones include:

  • Eredivisie Top Scorer (1997-1998)
  • Premier League Golden Boot (1999-2000)
  • Dutch Cup (1998)
  • Dutch Super Cup (1998)
  • English League Cup (2004)
  • UEFA Cup (2004)

Hasselbaink also represented Netherlands at international level, where he scored 9 goals in 23 appearances.
