Arsenal are apparently interested in signing Federico Chiesa from Juventus, a player they tried to sign before he moved there in the first place.

Arsenal are apparently interested in signing Juventus’ 25-year-old winger despite Chelsea already having a £55m bid turned down for the player.

Chelsea’s actions in this window under Todd Boehly have been unpredictable, to say the least, but this seems like a move we are making after them this time.

Chiesa signed for Juventus on a permanent deal last summer after a loan spell from Fiorentina. He cost them €42.5m on top of a €12.6m loan fee and, no sooner had he become a permanent Juve player, ruptured his cruciate ligament.

Now recovered and back playing, Chiesa could be one of the players who pays the price for Juventus’s off-field antics which have, once again, landed them in big trouble.

Arsenal are looking for a winger but so many have been linked, it’s hard to know just how much faith to put in any rumours.

Chiesa is certainly a player Mikel Arteta has been admiring for a while, so on that basis alone, there could be something here.

That being said, with just under a week left in the window, it could also be nonsense.
