Bukayo Saka has made it into L’Equipe’s Team of the World Cup, the only non-semi-finalist to feature in the side.

L’Equipe named their Team of the World Cup following the competition’s conclusion on Sunday, with 10 of the players coming from the four teams to make the semi-finals.
Kylian Mbappe made it in as France’s representative, Lionel Messi, Enzo Fernandez, and Marcos Acuna from Argentina, Luka Modric, Josko Gvardiol, and Dominik Livakovic from Croatia, and Sofyan Amrabat, Romain Saïss, and Achraf Hakimi from Morocco.
The one exception was England and Arsenal star Bukayo Saka, who completed the lineup despite England’s elimination to France in the quarter-finals.
With three goals and a penalty won leading to a goal in his four World Cup appearances, Saka certainly made an impression at the tournament.
L’Equipe give Saka a 6.5 rating, which is better than it sounds. The outlet are notoriously harsh with their ratings, and 6.5 is a better rating than six of the other players in the team received.

From an Arsenal point of view, it may be for the best Saka was then eliminated a little earlier than any England fan would have hoped, as he’s now had some time off before competitive club football resumes.
Mikel Arteta suggested the youngster will be back in training this week and admitted it will be a big boost to have him and Gabriel Martinelli involved again.
