Arsenal remain interested in Tammy Abraham and AS Roma would be willing to sell for around £43m, according to reports in Italy.

Italian outlet Radio Radio report that Tammy Abraham is currently unhappy with AS Roma, and he’d accept a departure if Roma agreed a fee for his exit.

According to the same report, Roma will sell if they get an offer of €50m (£43.2m), and they don’t want to simply give him away.

La Repubblica (via Sport Witness) report that Arsenal are continuing to monitor Abraham, and they believe he could be a good addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad. Now that Gabriel Jesus is injured, the Gunners could be even keener to bring a striker to the club.

Chelsea have a buy-back clause in Abraham’s contract, but that won’t cause any problems in January.

For a start, the clause is only valid from July 2023, so Chelsea can’t activate it yet.

Even when they can, the fee is set at €80m, well above Roma’s current asking price, so the Blues would probably prefer to try and negotiate a deal.

For the time being, Chelsea don’t appear to be in the race anyway. Aston Villa are the other Premier League club reported by La Repubblica to hold an interest in Abraham.

After a fantastic first season with Roma, in which Abraham scored 27 goals, the striker only has four this campaign so far.

That’s likely to leave the striker feeling a little unsettled, but it also makes it doubtful Arsenal will drop £43m on him, even with the injury to Jesus.
