Arsenal have an outside chance of a move for Jude Bellingham, with Liverpool and Manchester City reportedly the leading contenders.

Bild report that Liverpool are likely the favourite to sign Jude Bellingham as it stands, particularly in light of Jurgen Klopp’s strong relationship with his former club and the potential for a new owner to take over before next summer.

Manchester City are also heavily involved in the race, as they have the financial firepower to make it happen, and Manchester United are also seemingly keen.

Bild report that Arsenal are also in the race, but that they, Chelsea, and Real Madrid are all “outsiders” for the midfielder.

Bellingham has a contract until 2025, but it’s expected that he’ll leave Dortmund in the summer.

Even so, the player won’t come cheap, with his performances at the World Cup only increasing his valuation.

Bellingham has started all of England’s matches at the World Cup so far, helping them to three wins in four games and adding a goal and an assist from midfield. That’s quite the impact for a 19-year-old.

Bukayo Saka has also been a key part of that England team, and perhaps Arsenal will hope their fellow England youngster could put in a good word for them.

But it’s going to be an expensive transfer for a player who has the pick of wherever he wants to go.

From that point of view, Arsenal maintaining their Premier League title challenge could also be key.

At the very least, qualifying for the Champions League and hoping Liverpool miss out would help, as Joleon Lescott pointed out in October.
