USA goalkeeping legend, Brad Friedel, believes that Matt Turner should leave Arsenal to join a club where he is playing regularly, saying he is ‘too good’ to sit on the Gunner’s bench.

Matt Turner started every game for the USA in the World Cup through the groups stages and including their last-16 defeat at the hands of the Netherlands.

The Arsenal keeper kept two cleansheets in his four games, conceding four in total, three of which were scored by the Dutch.

In short, the American had an excellent tournament and, despite looking like he should be a very dodgy keeper, Turner has turned out to be much better than many expected, myself included.

Speaking to the media, former USMNT keeper, Brad Friedel, believes the 28-year-old should consider leaving Arsenal in order to play more regularly.

“If Chelsea aren’t choosing Christian Pulisic, then I think he should move elsewhere because he’s good enough to play somewhere,” Friedel told Online Casino.

“I think the same of Matt Turner, he should not be sitting on Arsenal’s bench although I’m not saying Mikel Arteta should start him ahead of Aaron Ramsdale who’s started well.

“I’m just saying he’s too good not to play football so he should find another club somewhere. I’ve been impressed with Matt Turner.”

Turner arrived at Arsenal in the summer from New England Revolution for around £5m.  He has also played four times for Arsenal, all in the Europa League, keeping three cleansheets
