Gabriel Martinelli was the first player out of the Brazilian hotel on Friday night, opting to pass on Brazil’s chartered flight to London.

Brazil were eliminated from the World Cup on Friday night, and it seems Gabriel Martinelli isn’t planning to waste any time following his participation in the tournament.

Globo Esporte report that CBF (the Brazilian Football Confederation) had chartered a flight for Saturday, set to transport players to London and then onto Brazil. However, Martinelli was one of the players to pass on that option.

According to the report, Martinelli was the first to leave the Brazil hotel, and along with Vinicius Jr, Eder Militao, Alex Sandro, and Bruno Guimaraes, he’s decided to make his own way out of Qatar.

Presumably, the winger plans to fly to Dubai, where Arsenal are in training. The likes of Matt Turner and Thomas Partey have already flown to the UAE following their participation in the World Cup.

So far, none of Arsenal’s World Cup internationals have been spotted in training or named in a matchday squad for the current batch of friendlies. But it’s seemingly only a matter of time before they join in.

With Martinelli’s hope of a World Cup winner’s medal on hold for another few years, the focus now turns to Arsenal’s attempt to win some silverware this season.

Martinelli’s eagerness to move on is an encouraging sign, and hopefully, he’ll arrive at the Arsenal camp with a point to prove.
