It has been an excellent start to the 2022/23 Premier League campaign for Arsenal. When the league returns following the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the Gunners will be looking to maintain their spot at the top of the standings.

One of the reasons for Arsenal’s great form in the early stages of the season has been how well the summer signings added to the squad by manager Mikel Arteta have fitted into the team. Here is a look at who has been the most impactful of those new players.

Gabriel Jesus

Since arriving at Manchester City in 2016, striker Gabriel Jesus has been one of the most prolific goalscorers in the Premier League. He scored 95 goals for Manchester before switching clubs to Arsenal.

Jesus has wasted no time in settling into his new team. He has scored five goals in 14 Premier League appearances; however, his impact has been more than just goals. He is showing all the qualities needed in the number nine role in the team.

The new Arsenal forward is set to be a key player for Brazil at the 2022 World Cup. His national team head coach Tite is a big fan of the player. As of the 17th of November, the five-time winners are the 7-2 favourites in the FIFA World Cup betting to lift the trophy in Qatar.

Jesus will hopefully have a good tournament for his country and return to Arsenal full of confidence for the second half of the season.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Another player Arteta raided his former club for during the summer was Oleksandr Zinchenko. The versatile player has been excellent at the back for the Gunners on the left side of the defence since arriving from Manchester City.

Like Jesus, Zinchenko is a player who is used to having a lot of success. He won four Premier League titles during his time at City. The former Ukrainian Footballer of the Year also has a lot of experience playing at the highest level in the Champions League and international football.

The £30 million signing looks to have a big future at Arsenal and hopefully, he can carry on having the same kind of success as has had so far in his career.

Fabio Vieira

With the surname of Vieira, naturally, a lot was expected from Fabio Vieira when Arsenal signed him from Porto back in the summer. The Portuguese midfielder has not looked out of place in the Premier League when he has started or come off the bench.

Vieira scored his first goal for the Gunners in a 3-0 victory over Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium. He also found the back of the net in a 3-0 success against Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Europa League.

Expect to see Vieira’s role in the team pick up following the World Cup. With Arsenal still involved in three competitions, there will be plenty of opportunities for him to show what he is capable of in the Gunners’ midfield.

Matt Turner

Although goalkeeper Matt Turner has yet to start in the Premier League for Arsenal, his arrival has added some strong competition for Aaron Ramsdale, which should prove healthy for the England international.

Turner is set to be in goal for the United States at the 2022 World Cup, which will be a great experience for the Arsenal shot-stopper. He was named the Best Goalkeeper at the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup for his country after helping them to the trophy in that tournament last year.

The 28-year-old has played in four Europa League matches this season and he is likely to continue to start in European matches. He could also get the opportunity to play in the FA Cup should Arteta choose to change his starting XI in the cup competition.

Turner has shown he can be relied upon should Ramsdale get injured or pick up a suspension at any point this season. He is arguably the best second choice ‘keeper in the Premier League.

Arsenal return to action in the Premier League on the 26th of December when they host West Ham at the Emirates Stadium. All four of the above players will be giving their all to ensure it is a successful season for the Gunners.
