Mikel Arteta is one of three nominated for the Premier League Manager of the Month award in October, having kept Arsenal at the top of the league.

The Premier League announced their October nominees for the Premier League Manager of the Month award on Thursday, with Mikel Arteta, Pep Guardiola of Manchester City, and Eddie Howe of Newcastle United all making the cut.
Arteta led his side to four wins and one draw in October, including victories over Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool. The only slip-up was away to Southampton, a 1-1 draw.
Guardiola was the only one of the three to lose a league match in October, but his Manchester City side won their other four to stay in touch with Arsenal.
As for Howe, his Newcastle side played an extra game in October, and he came out of the month with five wins and one draw against Manchester United.
Howe and Arteta are surely favourites ahead of Guardiola, considering neither of them lost a game and both gained on the City boss. But it all comes down to the voting and the Premier League’s panel now, and you can submit your vote here.

Arteta has already won the Premier League Manager of the Month award on a few occasions, receiving it in September 2021, March 2022, and most recently in August 2022.
For anyone worrying about the “Manager of the Month curse”, where managers supposedly struggle after winning the award, you shouldn’t bother.
After Arteta was presented with the August award on September 16th, his Arsenal side went on to win five of their next six league games!
