Matteo Guendouzi reportedly complained about the new Marseille coach in the summer and was told if he didn’t like it, he could leave.

Matteo Guendouzi will always hold a warm place in the hearts of many Arsenal fans, mostly due to him being an absolute header. But an absolute header he is.

So, it should come as no surprise that the player, who has had issues with most of his coaches to date if reports are to be believed, had an issue in Marseille.

Despite spending the season on loan there last year, Guendouzi only moved to France on a permanent basis in the summer.

The 23-year-old’s transfer was completed on 1 July and three days later, Marseille appointed Igor Tudor as their new manager.

By the end of the month, Guendouzi was in the President’s office, telling Pablo Longoria he wasn’t happy at all.

He’d had a fight with Tudor during half time of Marseille’s friendly match against AC Milan with the former Arsenal midfielder, a firm fan of Tudor’s predecessor, Jorge Sampaoli, unhappy with decisions the new manager was making.

According to L’Equipe, via Le 10 Sport, Guendouzi complained to Longoria and was told in no uncertain terms that if he didn’t like it he could leave.

A meeting was held with the whole team and things are all apparently fine now, if you leave aside Guendouzi letting ‘his anger explode’ when he was subbed off after an hour against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League last week.
