Arsenal are only likely to be missing Emile Smith Rowe and Takehiro Tomiyasu through injury when they face Wolves on Saturday.

Goal report that Takehiro Tomiyasu is the only major fitness doubt for Arsenal ahead of their trip to Wolves – with the exception of Emile Smith Rowe, whose long-term injury was always expected to keep him out until after the World Cup.

Arsenal have had various fitness concerns in recent weeks, with Oleksandr Zinchenko and Matt Turner among the recent absentees. But Zinchenko made his first appearance back in action last weekend, and Turner was on the bench on Wednesday.

Bukayo Saka was omitted from Wednesday’s League Cup clash completely, but it seems there’s no problem on his end either. He was simply held back for a well-earned rest.

Considering Tomiyasu and Smith Rowe are probably currently second-choice options to Ben White and Gabriel Martinelli even when fit, Arsenal are expected to name a full-strength starting lineup against Wolves.

One question hanging over the game is whether one or two players might be affected by the recent World Cup squad announcements.

Arsenal starters Ramsdale, White, Saliba, Xhaka, Saka, Jesus, and Martinelli have all been called up for the World Cup already, and they won’t want to pick up an injury at the last possible moment.

It was a different story last week, when they all knew they were still playing for their place. Now they know they have it, the threat of a potential injury looms larger.

Then there are those that missed out, like Gabriel Magalhaes, Vieira, Lokonga, and so on, who may be feeling somewhat disheartened right now.

It all makes for a unique fixture, and the squad will need to stay focused to get the final win they need to stay top of the league over the World Cup break.
