Salah-Eddine Oulad M’hand remains absent for Hull City through injury, seemingly suffering a setback after returning to training last month.

Of all of Arsenal’s loanees this season, only Salah-Eddine Oulad M’hand is still yet to play a single minute of competitive football.

Oulad M’hand is on loan at Hull City, and the Championship side were very keen to bring him in. But he’s suffered with injury issues keeping him out of action so far.

Back in October, the midfielder returned from injury to rejoin training with the Hull squad, with reports that he was targeting an on-pitch comeback after the World Cup.

But with Hull playing a couple of friendlies against Turkish sides over the break, Oulad M’hand is absent again.

Hull boss Liam Rosenior explained the situation to the media earlier this month, refusing to put a timeframe on the Arsenal loanee’s recovery.

“He’s had a few issues with his pelvis and his groin, so we’re taking that one slowly,” Rosenior said. “The last thing I want to do is rush any player back and they break down again.

“I’m not the type of manager to set really stringent targets, I want to make sure that when they are fit, they stay fit.”

Oulad M’hand only joined Arsenal in 2020, completing a free transfer from Feyenoord, but he left the club this summer on loan with an option to buy.

Across all competitions for the Arsenal youth teams last season, Oulad M’hand scored six goals and provided five assists. His younger brother Ismail is also on the books with the academy, having joined from Feyenoord at the same time.

But injury problems have been the story of 19-year-old Salah-Eddine’s spell in England so far, missing around a year and a half of his first two and a half years in the country. Hopefully, his luck will turn soon.
