The January transfer window is approaching and there are a number of players being linked with a move to Arsenal, but while the Gunners have money to spend this winter, quite a few of the players they are linked with will currently be available for nothing in the summer.

Youri Tielemans

Youri Tielemans could well be set to sign for Arsenal with media in Italy claiming he will be going to north London rather than Turin to sign for Juventus.

Of all the players being linked who are available for free, this one and the next one seem like they have the most chance of happening.

Evan Ndicka

Eintracht Frankfurt will try and sell Evan Ndicka for around £15m in January rather than lose him for nothing in the summer.

As a left-sided centreback, Arsenal are said to be very keen.

Wilfried Zaha

Wilfried Zaha is back being linked with Arsenal but given that he is now 29, his chance of a move to Arsenal seems to be over.

At present, I’m putting the rumours linking Arsenal with interest in the Crystal Palace forward, who has five goals and an assist in 11 games this season, down to lazy journalists.

Marco Asensio

Arsenal have been linked on and off with a move for Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio for what feels like years now.

The 26-year-old right winger has played just 217 minutes this season, with two goals and two assists to show for it, which isn’t bad at all, given how little he is playing.

Houssem Aouar

There was a time Arsenal seemed like they wanted to spend a lot of money to buy Houssem Aouar, but over recent windows, it has been quite quiet on that front.

Expect that to change as his contract winds down.

Still only 24, an ankle injury has restricted Aouar to just three appearances this season.
