Arsenal are one of the clubs scouting Carlos Alcaraz ahead of his potential transfer away from Racing Club, according to a report.

Marca report that Arsenal are one of a number of a teams who have either enquired or sent scouts to watch Carlos Alcaraz of Racing Club recently.

The Gunners join the likes of Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Juventus, Spurs, Inter Milan, and AC Milan in showing an interest, whilst Wolves and PSV Eindhoven are also in the mix.

Marca claim Racing Club want around $20m (£16.56m) for Alcaraz, who has a release clause of $25m (£20.69m).

The Mirror reported in May that Alcaraz had set his sights on a Premier League move, again repeating that the Gunners had sent scouts to watch him play. Despite interest from plenty of clubs, the player’s preference is apparently a move to England.

19-year-old Alcaraz is a midfielder, and he’s already played over 80 times for his club’s senior side, scoring 12 goals and assisting six.

Though Arsenal probably need someone with a bit more experience in the middle, the Gunners are very short of midfield options, so it’s not impossible they also look to bring in a long-term addition over the next couple of windows. Perhaps Alcaraz fits the bill.
