Aaron Ramsdale doesn’t believe it’s possible for a team as good as Liverpool to become bad overnight, so he’s expecting a big test on Sunday.

Liverpool have been one of the surprise packages of the early Premier League season, and not in a good way.

Consistently one of the two best teams in the league for the last few years, Liverpool sit ninth in the league and 11 points behind Arsenal going into the weekend – albeit with a game in hand on the Gunners.

But Jurgen Klopp’s side have shown glimpses of their old selves this season.

They smashed Bournemouth 9-0, they won their last two Champions League games, and they made an impressive comeback against Brighton last week, even if they did then concede a late equaliser.

Aaron Ramsdale believes the old Liverpool are still there, so Arsenal won’t have an easy game this weekend.

“You don’t stay at the top of the league for so long like they have if you become a bad team overnight,” Ramsdale said. “So we’ve got to be on our game like we have been throughout the start of the season.

“Hopefully it’s one [where] we can get the Emirates rocking again and give another good weekend.”

Sunday’s fixture is an opportunity for Arsenal to show that they mean business at the top of the table, but Liverpool will see it as a chance to kickstart their season.
