Arsenal legend, ‘It’s only’ Ray Parlour, has been comparing Arsenal legend-in-the-making Gabriel Jesus with Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry, even though he says the players are nothing like each other.

To say that Gabriel Jesus has claimed a place in Arsenal fans’ hearts after just 10 games would be to state the bleeding obvious.

It’s not just his five goals and four assists in that time, on the back of a season that saw Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang score a combined 15 goals, with 10 assists in 74 games between them. Although that helps.

“At City, you know, he was a fringe player wasn’t he. Wasn’t playing on a regular basis.

“Now he’s centre-forward, he drifts out to the left quite often a little like Thierry Henry used to.

“I know he’s a totally different player to Thierry Henry but he’s been an absolute revelation since he’s been at Arsenal. So has Zincehnko. The recruitment, we always say is so important in football clubs.

“It’s been spot on.”
