When Arsenal’s squad was announced for their Europa League game against PSV Eindhoven, Matt Turner was not in it, so what’s up with the American keeper?

Aaron Ramsdale was named in the starting lineup for Arsenal’s Europa League game against PSV Eindhoven with Karl Hein on the bench.

Arsenal normally name two keepers on the bench for the Europa League, so it was clear that something was up with Turner.

It seems that the 28-year-old has a tight groin and the club did not want to take any risks with him, especially not with the World Cup on the horizon.

Turner has started most of the USA’s games since last summer and must be confident of going to Qatar as their number one. USA are in England’s group along with Iran and Wales.

All of Turner’s minutes for Arsenal this season have come in the Europa League where he has played four and kept three cleansheets, conceding just one goal
