On Wednesday night, Marseille lost 2-1 in the Champions League at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Going one down, Matteo Guendouzi scored a fantastic goal to draw his side level only to give the ball away three minutes later, allowing Frankfurt to take the lead again.

He was taken off after an hour.

Nuno Tavares also started the game and played the full 90 but his rating of 4 out of 10 from L’Equipe tells you how his evening went.

La Provence, from Marseille, were less kind, saying “the summer hit has aged very badly.”

They go on to talk about the “many balls” be lost and the chance he wasted when he could have set up Alexis Sanchez to equalise.

The defender completed just three of the nine dribbles he attempted, didn’t find a single teammate with eight crosses, won none of his aerial duels, and just over half of his ground duels.

He was also fouled six times and made 10 recoveries.

Tavares scored three goals in his first four games for Marseille, but has not registered a goal or assist since the end of August.

He also had to serve a one-match suspension after picking up three yellow cards within the first 10 Ligue 1 games of the season.
