Alexandre Lacazette’s time back with Lyon has packed a lot in for the few short months he’s been there.

He was attacked by wasps when out for a walk that delayed his debut, scored within 12 minutes of his competitive debut, had surgery to remove vocal polyps that made him sounds like he had been huffing helium and then called his manager out in the media.

Signing for Lyon on 1 July, by the end of that month Lacazette was already having to deny  he had any issue with Peter Bosz, a denial that seems to be less than the true given how things have played out.

Then, there was talk of dressing room unrest with Lacazette wanting the number 10 shirt when it wasn’t clear if Lucas Paqueta would even be leaving.

Eventually, the Brazilian joined West Ham, allowing Lacazette to regain the shirt he had worn with Lyon during his first spell.

Speaking last week, Lacazette was not happy that Bosz opted to bring on former Arsenal man, Jeff Reine-Adelaide in place of Moussa Dembele when the team needed a goal.

“Moussa’s exit? I’m a little surprised, as a striker, as soon as you need to score a goal, it’s always annoying to get out of the field,” Lacazette said.

“I think we were good with Moussa up front. After the coach made his choices, he had his reasons and we have to respect them.

“As a basic striker, I don’t always understand when the striker comes out when we need to score.”

He was then asked about Bosz’s future and replied, “If I want him to stay the coach of OL?

“I want to win matches.

“Afterwards, it’s not up to me to decide whether he stays or not.

“It’s up to the president, the sporting director and on the board.

“I’m here to play, I give my all for the colours and for the club, I just want to win matches.”

Those comments have been seen as an ‘attack’ on Bosz by Lacazette’s teammates who, according to Sport, do not appreciate the way Laca delivered them – on live TV.

They add that the comments “immediately become more awkward because Lacazette is not considered flawless in the group due to his performance… ”

Lacazette has four goals and two assists in 10 Ligue 1 appearances and has an average rating of 7.44. If they think that is poor, they should have seen him last season with Arsenal when he scored four goals in 30 Premier League games with an average rating of 6.88.
