Liverpool have a number of injury problems to contend with as they prepare to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

There are a few Liverpool players confirmed to be absent with injury as Jurgen Klopp’s side take on Arsenal this weekend.

Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are both still a while away from full fitness, whilst Arthur Melo picked up an injury this week, so those three will all certainly miss the match.

Curtis Jones and Andy Robertson are also major doubts, despite rejoining training.

In his press conference, Klopp claimed Robertson was “close” to a return, adding that Jones was “probably the closest”.

But other sources have seemingly ruled Robertson out. Anfield Watch report that despite Robertson’s return to training outside, he won’t be available on Sunday. Jack Sear writes that it’s not clear if Robertson took part in the full session.

Finally, there’s a bit of doubt around Thiago. There’s no official word on his injury status, but the midfielder wasn’t pictured in training on Friday.

There’s some speculation Thiago is just being held back as a precaution after his recent fitness issues, and he’ll still be involved on matchday. Klopp didn’t mention him at all in his injury update, which suggests he’ll be available.

But at the very least, it’s not the ideal buildup to a game for Thiago.

With Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Arthur out, Robertson and Jones likely to join them, and at least some doubt around Thiago, Arsenal have to be looking to take advantage with a strong performance on Sunday.
