Jens Lehmann is under suspicion of vandalism  again at the same time as Mark Clattenburg brands him one of the worst players he has ever refereed.

I doubt Jens Lehmann gives a toss about what Mark Clattenburg thinks of him from his playing days and is much more concerned about his current trouble after yet another alleged run-in with his neighbour.

I, however, found it hilarious. Clattenburg’s comments, not Lehmann’s latest alleged behaviour, which I will get to.

In a piece for the Mirror, Clattenburg was asked to list the ‘most annoying’ players he’d ever refereed.

As one of five, he picked Jens Lehmann, writing, “He was just so irritable and never stopped, one of those miserable blokes who would whinge about everything and everyone.

“If the ball was round, he would whinge. If the ball was white, he would whinge. You would think, ‘Just give it a rest’.

“But he would do snidey, little things himself that made it difficult and I didn’t enjoy refereeing him at all. He was erratic and his antics were not easy to deal with.”

Alas, it seems like this sort of behaviour is not just confined to the football pitch.

Lehmann has been in something of a battle with his neighbour for a number of months which sounds pretty ‘so what?’ until you realise that the neighbour is 91 and Lehmann was accused of attacking his new garage with a chainsaw.

Now, the 52-year-old former keeper is under suspicion after his neighbour’s internet cable was cut. Police are investigating the matter.

“Someone cut the telecom data cable,” Lehmann’s neighbour told German media, as reported by Mail Online.

“My internet was connected to it, as was the surveillance camera that filmed Mr Lehmann during his chainsaw operation in July.”

It should be noted that his neighbour has not accused Lehmann and has filed a complaint against ‘persons unknown’.
