Alexandre Lacazette has got himself into something of a row with Lyon’s boss Peter Bosz and it looks like it could be the coach who will pay the price.

Alexandre Lacazette’s return to Lyon has certainly been eventful.

Signing for Lyon on 1 July, by the end of that month Lacazette was already having to deny  he had any issue with Peter Bosz, a denial that seems to be less than the true given how things have played out.

Then, there was talk of dressing room unrest with Lacazette wanting the number 10 shirt when it wasn’t clear if Lucas Paqueta would even be leaving.

Eventually, the Brazilian joined West Ham, allowing Lacazette to regain the shirt he had worn with Lyon during his first spell.

Taking a paycut to rejoin the club he left to join Arsenal, a freak injury then delayed his debut when he was attacked by wasps while enjoying a walk in the forest.

When recovered from his numerous stings, Lacazette got his debut on which he scored after just 12 minutes when Ligue 1 kicked off.

Vocal chord surgery followed after a problem with polyps left the 31-year-old sounding squeaky. Now that has been rectified, he’s back to calling out his manager.

Lacazette, it seems, was not happy that Bosz opted to bring on former Arsenal man, Jeff Reine-Adelaide in place of Moussa Dembele when the team needed a goal.

“Moussa’s exit? I’m a little surprised, as a striker, as soon as you need to score a goal, it’s always annoying to get out of the field,” Lacazette said.

“I think we were good with Moussa up front. After the coach made his choices, he had his reasons and we have to respect them.

“As a basic striker, I don’t always understand when the striker comes out when we need to score.”

He was then asked about Bosz’s future and replied, “If I want him to stay the coach of OL?

“I want to win matches.

“Afterwards, it’s not up to me to decide whether he stays or not.

“It’s up to the president, the sporting director and on the board.

“I’m here to play, I give my all for the colours and for the club, I just want to win matches.”

So, from denying he had a problem with Bosz in July, Lacazette is now not even able to say he wants him to remain as head coach.

Bosz has come under pressure with Lying only winning four of their opening 10 Ligue 1 matches, losing four and drawing two.

They are already 12 points behind PSG, who top the table, nine behind Marseille in the final Champions League spot, eight behind the Champions League qualifying place, seven behind the Europa League spot and three behind the Europa Conference League qualifying place.
