Bukayo Saka has admitted that Leeds United put Arsenal under a lot of pressure, but he thinks the team are showing they can win no matter what.

Though Arsenal made it 12 wins in 13 against Leeds United on Sunday, they didn’t exactly do so comfortably.

After a mixed first half where Bukayo Saka gave the Gunners the lead with an excellent finish, the hosts dominated the second half. Aaron Ramsdale had to make some huge saves, and Patrick Bamford missed a penalty to help maintain the clean sheet.

The half put the fans through the wringer, but Mikel Arteta’s side ended up taking the three points in a 1-0 victory. After the game, Saka admitted it wasn’t just the supporters feeling the tension.

“Yeah, my heart’s still racing,” Saka said. “I’m just really happy to get the three points because it was a really tough game. Leeds did really well, especially in the second half.

“They put a lot of pressure on us, so it makes it extra nice for us to leave here with all three points.

“Credit to Leeds, they were really good, especially in the second half.”

Whatever the manner of the victory, it’s another win for the side. Saka thinks it’s important for the team to show they can keep this run going even when things go against them.

“Big momentum for us,” Saka enthused. “We’ve won another game and we just need to keep going, keep pushing like this, and some days it won’t be as easy – like today – and we’ll just show that we can win no matter what.”

Arsenal now return to the Europa League for another big game against PSV Eindhoven, where a win would leave them in a really strong position to top the group.
