When Arsene Wenger was Arsenal manager, he guided the club to three league titles.

That’s one more than Tottenham have won in their 140-year history. He also won Ligue 1 with Monaco.

So, it’s safe to say he knows a thing or two about what it takes to win the league.

With Arsenal sitting at the top of the table, talk of titles has started to raise its head but everybody, including almost all Arsenal fans, expect Arsenal to fall short of this Haaland-inspired Manchester City team.

“Personally I would put Arsenal just behind Manchester City,” Wenger said.

“Arsenal are the second best team who have a good chance to win the Premier League.

“Because Manchester City at some stage will focus highly on winning the Champions League.

“We don’t know about Liverpool, but they are already 11 points behind [Arsenal]. 10 points behind Man City is a mountain to climb.

“Chelsea do not look consistent – at the moment, they have not found the confidence to pretend to win the league.”

Wenger was then asked about Tottenham, Wenger’s tone lightened as he joked, “Tottenham anyway, by my DNA, I cannot believe they will win.”
